SBCA Seals Ex-President Arif Alvi’s Dental Clinic Over Zoning Violations
The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has sealed a dental clinic owned by former President Dr. Arif Alvi for allegedly violating zoning regulations.
Sources reveal that the clinic, situated in the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society (SMCHS), was being operated in a residential bungalow, breaching the authority’s rules. The sealing operation, led by Assistant Director SBCA Shakeel Jamali, involved SBCA officials and local police.
Authorities claim the clinic was operating without the necessary permits for commercial use in a residential zone. Complaints from residents reportedly triggered the SBCA’s action. “This is part of our broader effort to stop illegal commercial activities in residential areas,” an SBCA official stated anonymously.
Dr. Arif Alvi, who served as Pakistan’s president from 2018 to 2023, has yet to comment. The clinic, a long-standing establishment, has drawn significant attention due to Alvi’s political stature.
