Report Indicates Pakistan’s Population to Double by 2050

-

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) report predicts that Pakistan’s population could double by 2050 if current growth rates persist, as reported by InShort News.

The 7th Population Census data highlighted Pakistan’s highest population growth rate in the region and identified 21.26 million foreign nationals and 8.7 million Hindus, Christians, and others residing in the country.

The report also noted 2.53 million children aged 5-16 out of school and highlighted a 61% literacy rate, with significant demographic youth, including 40.56% under 15 years and 26% aged 15-29.

Marital statistics showed 29.75% unmarried, 65.97% married, and smaller percentages widowed, divorced, or separated. Projections from a UN report suggest Pakistan’s population may peak at 404.68 million by 2092, surpassing Indonesia’s population by 2048.
