In a significant boost to educational initiatives, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced substantial investments in Punjab’s education sector.
The Punjab government will allocate over Rs 125 billion annually to cover the educational expenses of 25,000 students.
During a meeting of the Education Department, CM Maryam directed that awards be given to top students and their teachers from all education boards in Punjab.
She also approved a Student Scholarship Programme and Laptop Scheme, instructing authorities to implement these initiatives.
Additionally, CM Maryam announced the launch of a transport program for female students, which will provide buses to 60 girls’ colleges in Punjab in its first phase.
She also emphasized the need for IT hubs in all districts.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary to CM Sajid Zafar Dal, and Secretary Higher Education Dr. Farrukh Naveed were present at the meeting.
