-

In a significant move to enhance infrastructure, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated several major projects on Wednesday.

She launched the Controlled Access Corridor Closed Road Package-II and Ravi Bridge Expansion Projects, along with the remodeling of the Babu Sabu Interchange, a crucial part of the Controlled Access Corridor Project.

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) DG Tahir Farooq and Chief Engineer Israr Saeed provided updates on the projects, noting the completion of the Niazi-Saggian and Saggian-Babu Sabu Interchange projects.

They reported that the service lane road on both sides of the 7.5 km Controlled Access Corridor closed road has been opened, and repairs to the drain have been completed. Additionally, five vehicular and four pedestrian subways have been constructed.

During the event, she instructed authorities to extend the service lane along the closed road to better serve the surrounding communities.

She also planted saplings and inspected the progress of both the Controlled Access Corridor Closed Road Package-II and the Ravi Bridge projects.

At Babu Sabu Chowk, a green belt and park have been established following the removal of encroachments, and a 540-meter-long, four-lane bridge has been built over the Ravi River.

The Ravi Bridge project will benefit areas including Shahdara, Kot Abdul Malik, Sheikhupura, Kalashah Kaku, and Lahore Ring Road, while the Controlled Access Corridor Closed Road project will aid Gulshan Ravi, Sanda, Chauhan Road, Saggian, Shirakot, Shafiqabad, Rasulpura, Bilalganj, Munshi Hospital, and Amin Park, among others.

Senior Punjab officials, including Marriyum Aurangzeb, MPA Sania Ashiq, LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghub Ahmed, MPA Samiullah Khan, PHA Chairman Ghazali Saleem Butt, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Rashid Nasrullah, and Hafiz Nauman, accompanied the Chief Minister.
