PTI has postponed its planned October 15 protest due to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on Monday that it would delay its protest, originally set for October 15, in light of the SCO summit.
During a meeting of the PTI political committee, a majority of members supported the decision to postpone. Sources revealed that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan discussed the government’s offer with the committee.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had also reached out to Barrister Gohar, offering a medical examination of the deposed prime minister by doctors from PIMS Hospital. However, the government did not agree to allow doctors from Shaukat Khanum Hospital to conduct the examination.
Earlier today, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of PTI urged the central leadership to delay the protest, citing frustration among members over ongoing demonstrations. The provincial chapter strongly supported the postponement.
