“Pink Eye Cases in Punjab” – 907 patients brought in hospitals during last 24 hours

Amidst the ongoing monsoon season, Punjab is experiencing a significant surge in pink eye (conjunctivitis) infections, raising public health concerns across the province.

The combination of heavy rains and increased humidity appears to be contributing to the rapid spread of the infection.

According to reports, 907 cases of the infection were recorded in public hospitals over the past 24 hours.

Jhang reported 106 cases, Multan 93, Bhakkar 83, and DG Khan 41 cases. Lahore saw 11 cases within the same period. In total, 13,473 cases have been reported in public hospitals over the past 30 days.

The Punjab health department noted a 5 per cent decrease in pink eye cases this year.

In comparison, over 288,000 cases were reported between January and September last year.

Doctors have advised those infected to isolate themselves and urged the public to wash their hands frequently to prevent the spread of the infection.
