To celebrate the historic freedom of Gilgit-Baltistan from Dogra rule on November 1, local artists have released an inspiring patriotic anthem.
Performed by Zeeshan Hamza and Hashmi, the song beautifully captures the stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Gilgit-Baltistan,
while paying tribute to the bravery of its people. The anthem highlights the region’s fight for freedom, which began on November 1, 1947, and concluded with the end of Dogra rule in August 1948, when the Pakistani flag was first raised in Gilgit.
The heartfelt lyrics emphasize the enduring spirit of the region’s ancestors: “Our ancestors’ sacrifices will not be forgotten; the spirit of martyrdom is our pride.” The song conveys a powerful message of unity, peace, and love, reflecting the deep connection of the people to their homeland.
This national anthem serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for freedom and the enduring bond between the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan.
