New York: Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed delivered a strong rebuke to Israel during the Security Council session on Qatar, condemning its “illegal occupation and continuous violations of international law.”
Responding to Israel’s misleading comments, Ambassador Ahmed said the country repeatedly misuses the UN platform, ignores international law, and threatens global institutions, media, and human rights organizations without fear.
He added, “Like every occupier, it pretends to be the victim, but today its hypocrisy is fully exposed.”
Ambassador Ahmed stressed that decades of Council discussions on the Middle East and Palestine are necessary because of Israel’s refusal to end its occupation and blatant disregard for UN resolutions.
“Israel even attempted to mislead the Council with irrelevant incidents and false remarks about Pakistan to justify its actions,”
he concluded.
