Under the chairmanship of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, a session of the National Assembly was held to discuss the American agreement concerning foreign policy and Pakistani elections.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded effectively to the US House of Representatives’ resolution. We will bring a resolution in response to the US House of Representatives’ resolution. The draft of the resolution is ready. We have taken note of the US resolution and will definitely respond to it.”

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, while proposing opposition cooperation for constitutional amendments to grant overseas Pakistanis the right to vote, said, “I am committed to granting overseas Pakistanis the right to vote.”

It should be noted that the US Congress had overwhelmingly approved conducting impartial investigations into interference and irregularities in Pakistan’s general elections scheduled for February 8.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the resolution of the House of Representatives is a result of incomplete understanding of Pakistan’s political situation.
