Pakistani athletes Ahmed Durrani and Jehanara Nabi, along with shooters Gulfam Joseph and Kishmala Talat, had a disappointing day at the Paris Olympics 2024.
In the men’s 200-meter freestyle, Durrani finished last in his heat with a time of 1:58.67, falling short of his personal best of 1:55.
He placed 25th out of 25 swimmers, 11 seconds behind the semifinal qualification mark.
Jehanara Nabi, competing in the women’s 200-meter freestyle, finished 26th out of 30 swimmers and did not advance to the top 16, ending third in her heat.
In shooting, Gulfam Joseph did not make it to the final in the 10-meter air pistol event, ranking 22nd out of 33 with 571 points. Kishmala Talat, who scored 567 points, also did not progress.
Both shooters will participate in the mixed-team event on July 29, with Kishmala’s hopes now focused on the women’s 25m pistol event.
Pakistan has sent seven athletes and 11 officials to the Olympics.
