Muharram Holidays for Ashura 2024 Announced

The Federal Cabinet Division has issued the official schedule of public holidays for 2024, covering both religious and national events. According to inshort News, Muharram holidays for Ashura are scheduled for July 16 and 17.

The announcement provides clarity to the public and businesses regarding upcoming significant dates. Other highlighted holidays include Independence Day on August 14, Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) on September 16, Iqbal Day on November 9, and Quaid-e-Azam’s Birthday on December 25.

For those observing Islamic traditions, optional holidays include Shab-e-Meraj on February 7 and Shab-e-Barat on February 25. Non-Muslims will have optional holidays for various events such as Basant Panchami, Shivratri, Holi, Good Friday, Easter holidays, Baisakhi, Eid-ul-Rizwan, Buddhist Purnima, and Nowruz.

Bank holidays are also designated throughout the year, starting with January 1 as the first bank holiday and an optional New Year holiday.
