In a tragic incident on Thursday in Karachi, the body of a missing boy, approximately eight years old, was discovered near the ‘Tent City’ set up for flood-affected individuals on Link Road.
Police reported that the child had been subjected to sexual assault and fatally struck on the head with a hard, blunt object.
The body was transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for necessary medico-legal procedures.
Steel Town SHO Ghulam Husain Pirzada stated that the victim, belonging to a family affected by floods, had left home on June 11 to sell chips but did not return. His disappearance prompted his mother to file a missing person report at the Steel Town police station.
Violent Retribution in Surjani: Suspected Robber Lynched
In another incident in Surjani Town on the same day, a suspected robber met a grim fate when he was lynched by an enraged mob.
According to Surjani Town SHO Asadullah Agha, the suspect and an accomplice robbed three individuals at gunpoint near a Rickshaw stand in Sector-51-A.
As they attempted to escape, they were pursued by the victims and bystanders. The mob managed to apprehend one of the robbers, subjecting him to a severe beating that resulted in his death on the spot. The other perpetrator, however, managed to flee the scene. The looted valuables were reportedly recovered by the police.
The deceased’s identity could not be immediately confirmed, and his body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
