Major Traffic Reroutes in Karachi Due to Ongoing BRT Project

-

KARACHI: The Karachi traffic police have announced the closure of two tracks on the main University Road due to ongoing work on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.

To manage the traffic flow, authorities have provided alternative routes for commuters.

The closed sections stretch from Safura to Samama, as per the traffic police announcement on Monday.

Traffic from NIPA is being redirected to Dow University (Ojha Campus) and further to Safura via Sachal. Meanwhile, traffic from Safura is rerouted to Jauhar Chowrangi, and from Samama, it is directed back to NIPA.

To ensure smooth traffic movement and assist travelers, traffic police officers are stationed at key points along these routes.

The exact duration of the road closures remains uncertain as the development work continues. The BRT project aims to enhance public transport options across more routes in Karachi.
