Karachi’s streets are in disarray following heavy rainfall, with major roads collapsing and neighborhood streets becoming nearly impassable. Traffic is severely disrupted, and residents face hazardous conditions.
In Shah Faisal Colony, deep potholes stretch from Fauji Foundation Hospital to Number Three, slowing traffic, while shopkeepers struggle with debris.
The situation worsens further along the route to Malir River Bridge, with uneven roads.
Major streets like Pathrowala and Asif Roads are also damaged, and in Clifton Block-2, a road collapse has severed connections within the city.
Similarly, a newly constructed road near Teen Hatti on Jehangir Road has been ruined by the rain.
Korangi’s link road to Landhi is nearly unusable due to potholes and overflowing sewers, causing frequent accidents.
Meanwhile, a collapsed 24-inch sewage line beneath Tariq Road has compounded the problem.
University Road, already congested by BRT Red Line construction, faces severe traffic jams near Safari Park, worsened by stagnant rainwater and sewage.
In Gulistan-e-Johar, contaminated water supplies from the mixing of sewage and rainwater pose health risks to residents.
Collapsed sewage lines in Sohrab Goth and Jahanabad further add to the city’s post-rainfall struggles.
Local residents are calling on the Sindh government to take urgent action to repair the damaged areas.
