London Attack on Ex-CJP: Shayan Ali’s Group Accused of Targeting Qazi Faez Isa

-

Shayan Ali, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) UK, and his mother, Sadaf Mumtaz Malik, attacked former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa outside the Middle Temple in London after he left the venue. The protest was organized by PTI UK in response to the Temple’s decision to invite Isa to the bench following his retirement.

As Qazi Faez Isa’s car exited the Temple near the Pakistan High Commission around 10:20 PM, PTI protesters led by Shayan Ali and his mother assaulted the vehicle with punches and kicks, supported by others, including Aisha Ali Qureshi and Sadia Faheem.

In a viral video, Shayan Ali stated, “Mr. Qazi Faez Isa had lowered his head, but we caught him. His car hit a protester, and we will file a case against him and the police. This is a violation of human rights. We promised to catch Justice Qazi Faez Isa, and we did.”

Aisha Qureshi added, “He was hiding his face; he’s shameless. You disgraced Pakistan. Today, we disgraced you.”

The Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK condemned the attack, announcing that legal action would be taken against those involved. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered an investigation, stating that measures would be implemented to block the attackers’ ID cards and passports and potentially revoke their citizenship, pending cabinet approval.

A spokesperson for PTI UK distanced the party from Shayan Ali, claiming he acted independently for self-promotion and that the official PTI protest had ended earlier.
