“KE Operation”2,000 Kgs of ‘Kundas’ Removed, Saving 900,000 Units in North Karachi & Gadap

-

In a continued effort to combat electricity theft, K-Electric (KE) is collaborating with law enforcement. Recently, they removed over 2,000 kilograms of illegal underground connections, known as “kundas,” which were stealing around 800,000 to 900,000 units of electricity monthly.

These connections, which bypassed safety measures, posed serious risks to KE’s infrastructure and public safety. Electricity theft and unpaid bills are major loss factors.

KE is committed to safeguarding its infrastructure, providing load-shed exemptions to 70% of areas, and ensuring a reliable electricity supply.

KE encourages customers to help reduce theft and enhance community safety.
