Lal Majid of Karachi won the La Liste ‘Pastry Discovery Gem Award’ 2024, becoming the first Pakistani to receive this honor.
Attending the ceremony in Paris, she was proud to represent Pakistan while surrounded by renowned chefs.
Majid, originally a florist with a childhood passion for chocolate inspired by the Hansel and Gretel story, transitioned to making her own chocolates after extensive training.
Her business, Lals Pâtisserie, now uses local ingredients and has multiple outlets in Pakistan, with recent expansions to Dubai and plans for further growth.
