KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori announced the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award for Arshad Nadeem’s mother and coach, along with a prize of Rs 2 million for the Olympic gold medalist, InShort News reported.

At the Independence Day event held at the Governor’s House, Tessori praised Nadeem, noting that his Olympic victory greatly enhanced the Independence Day celebrations.

The Sindh governor also honored Nadeem with the title of “Sher Pakistan” (Lion of Pakistan), emphasizing the pride and inspiration Nadeem’s achievements have brought to the nation.

Arshad Nadeem, visibly moved by the warm reception from Karachiites, expressed his gratitude to the crowd, saying,

“I am very happy to see such a big crowd in Karachi. If I get the javelin now, I will break another record.”

Both Nadeem and Kamran Tessori extended their Independence Day wishes to the nation.

The crowd responded with enthusiasm, chanting “Arshad, Arshad” as the gold medalist was celebrated. Tessori noted that approximately 150,000 people attended the event, with surrounding streets also packed with spectators.
