9 Pakistani Students Shine at Istanbul University Model United Nations

Nine Pakistani students have received prestigious accolades across various committees at the Istanbul University Model United Nations, held from July 8 to 11, 2024, as reported by the Pakistan Consulate General in Istanbul.

This event, established in 1453 and attracting 10,000 students from 143 countries, ranks as one of Europe’s largest public speaking competitions.

Pakistan’s young delegates demonstrated commendable performance against university-level peers, showcasing their skills in rigorous debates spanning 57 disciplines.

H.E. Mr. Nauman Aslam, the Consul General of Pakistan in Istanbul, hosted the Pakistan team and their coach at the Pakistan Consulate, extending congratulations for their remarkable achievements.

Established in 1453, Istanbul University’s Model United Nations competition is one of the largest public speaking platforms in Europe. It encompasses 57 disciplines and attracts approximately 10,000 students from 143 countries annually. Notable alumni of Istanbul University include former Turkish President Abdullah Gul and former Turkish Foreign Minister Taran Gunes.
