India’s defense analysts, including Major General (retted) Gagan Deep Bakshi, have placed the blame for former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ouster on foreign interference.
Following widespread student protests in Bangladesh, Bakshi alleged that the US, China, and Pakistan were involved in orchestrating Hasina’s removal.
On an Indian TV channel, Bakshi claimed that the US sought to control Bangladesh’s islands, while China aimed to dock its submarines in Bangladeshi waters.
He also alleged that China used Pakistan’s ISI agents to connect with Jamaat-e-Islami in Bangladesh.
Bakshi criticized Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel laureate who will lead Bangladesh’s interim government as chief adviser, labeling him as a US ally.
Indian TV anchor Arnab Goswami echoed these sentiments, suggesting that the US deep state was responsible for Hasina’s removal and linking Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s appeal to the US to potential regime change in India.
The BBC reported that the collapse of Hasina’s government is seen as a setback for India, attributing it to India’s support for Hasina and alleged interference.
