Imran Khan Backs Jamaat-e-Islami’s Protest #Against Soaring Electricity Prices

-

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has declared his support for Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in protesting high electricity prices.

The former Prime Minister appeared before the Accountability Court at Adiala Jail, where he released a statement via his official X account.

Khan emphasized the public’s growing hardship due to inflation and economic instability, citing that even his jail cell cleaner received a 40,000-rupee electricity bill.

He endorsed Jamaat-e-Islami’s demonstration against the drastic increase in electricity bills and taxes and directed his party’s leadership and members to participate.

The protest by Jamaat-e-Islami, calling for reduced electricity prices, is ongoing on its fifth day at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi.
