-

The Punjab government has launched the “Honahar Scholarship,” a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing access to higher education for students across the region.

This program is designed to support deserving university students in realizing their academic aspirations.

Registration is now open, allowing students throughout Punjab to apply for financial assistance.

The initiative seeks to award scholarships to 30,000 students annually across 68 disciplines, promoting equitable access to higher education. Beneficiaries will include students from 50 public universities, 16 medical colleges, 131 graduate colleges, and leading private institutions.

With a total funding of Rs130 billion over eight years, the program is expected to assist 120,000 students within the next four years.

At the launch, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted the program’s potential to alleviate financial barriers for students.

“The Honahar Scholarship fulfills my promise,” she stated, “removing obstacles for talented individuals pursuing higher education.”

She further emphasized the program’s goal of empowering Pakistani youth through quality education and job opportunities, affirming, “I’m committed to securing our youth’s future.”
