In a powerful call for solidarity with Palestine, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman, the Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, urged Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to publicly reject Israel’s legitimacy.
Addressing the crowd at the Solidarity with Palestine Million March on Sunday at Jinnah Avenue, New Blue Area, Hafiz Naeem expressed strong criticism of the prevailing political system and the influence of foreign powers on Pakistani politics.
Hafiz Naeem condemned the U.S. as a “terrorist nation” and argued that Pakistan’s prosperity cannot be achieved under its influence. He accused the U.S. of labeling those who resist its imperialism as terrorists and imposing its version of democracy. He also pointed out the U.S.’s hypocrisy, as it holds a vast missile stockpile while imposing sanctions on Pakistan’s missile technology.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader emphasized that Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are vital for the nation’s defense and the security of the Muslim Ummah, criticizing political parties that seek U.S. approval on issues like imprisonment and release. He urged for a stronger commitment to democratic freedoms within the country.
Hafiz Naeem specifically called on Imran Khan to stand in support of Hamas and openly denounce Israel, urging Pakistani leaders to prioritize the Palestinian cause. He criticized Israel’s expansionist goals, highlighting its attacks on innocent civilians, particularly targeting Gaza, and described Israel’s actions as genocide.
Recalling Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s words, Hafiz Naeem called Israel an “illegitimate child of the West” and reiterated his unwavering support for the Palestinian people. He concluded his speech by stating that Israel’s aggression would ultimately be defeated by the resistance of Muslim fighters, despite the indifference of most Muslim countries.
