-

Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori has called for a public holiday on 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal in addition to the existing holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ.

In a media briefing in Karachi on Wednesday, Tesori announced his intention to write to the Prime Minister requesting a holiday on 11th Rabi-ul-Awwal alongside 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

He expressed hope that the Prime Minister will approve the proposal for two consecutive days off nationwide.

Additionally, the Governor plans to request PEMRA to avoid airing music and dance programs on 11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

Tesori emphasized that the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is a sacred time for devotees of the Prophet ﷺ, and thus, it is fitting to have holidays similar to other festivals.
