The federal government has sanctioned an increase of up to 51% in the base electricity tariff for residential consumers, effective July 1, 2024.

This adjustment could result in prices rising to as much as Rs. 57.63 per unit for some consumers.

As a consequence, bills may see a 20% increase, impacting all consumers. Expect additional charges ranging from Rs. 3.95 to Rs. 7.12 per unit, which will place financial strain on households and businesses.

Furthermore, customers using more than 300 units per month will face additional fixed charges.
