Dr. Mahrang Baloch Named in TIME’s ‘100 Most Influential People of 2024’ for Advocating Baloch Rights

Baloch human rights activist, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, has earned a place in TIME magazine’s prestigious ‘100 Most Influential People of 2024′ list.

As the leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), Dr. Baloch was recognized for her peaceful advocacy for Baloch rights and her leadership in the December 2023 march to Islamabad, where hundreds of women demanded justice for their missing loved ones.

TIME acknowledged that its TIME100 Next list celebrates individuals who are making a significant impact early in life. The list features leaders, innovators, advocates, and artists shaping the future.

In a Facebook post, the 31-year-old expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am deeply honored and delighted to be named among the top 100 emerging leaders of the world by TIME.”

Other Influential Figures in the List

The list also includes Bangladeshi student leader Nahid Islam, a key figure in nationwide protests against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Hamada Shaqoura, a Gazan food blogger whose videos of cooking amid wartime conditions have drawn global attention.
