Dialogue between arch rivals
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman confirmed the contacts with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday.
ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) delegation is likely to meet Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to sources, the PTI leadership has contacted the JUI leadership and a PTI delegation led by Barrister Gohar Ali Khan is likely to meet Molana Fazur Rehman today.
On the other hand, talking to the media outside Adiala jail Rawalpindi, PTI leader Asad Qaiser said that Imran Khan has given them the task to talk to all political parties.
Asad Qaiser said that they will contact the parties protesting against rigging in the election including the JUI-F, the Awami National Party, Jamaat-e-Islami and nationalist parties.
On the other hand speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Maulana Fazlur Rehman had said that they have had differences with the PTI, but they have no problem with their bodies rather they have a problem with their mindset.
Speaking exclusively to a TV channel Fazal said: “The PTI leaders have said we are coming. They [PTI leaders] are welcome here.”
“We do not know what the PTI leaders are going to talk about,” he said.
The PTI delegation will include Asad Qaiser, Barrister Saif, and Akhund Zada Hussain Ahmed.
Fazl announces to sit in opposition –
Rehman announced on Wednesday that his party will sit in the opposition. Addressing the press conference in Islamabad, Rehman said: “The JUI-F Central Executive Committee (CEC), which lasted two days, had denounced the poll results.”.
Ruling out the possibility of an alliance with the political parties, Rehman said: “We are not going to have any alliance with any party.”
He vowed that his party would continue to play its role in parliament. Rehman had also invited PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to join hands with him in opposition.
“We are not subordinate to the PML-N and PPP,” he said.
