CNG Stations in Pakistan to Remain Closed for Two Months to Prioritize Domestic Gas Supply

-

To ensure an uninterrupted gas supply for households during the harsh winter, the government has announced a two-month closure of all Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations across Pakistan in December and January.

According to sources, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has been directed to implement the shutdown. Additionally, gas supplies to power plants and captive power stations will also be halted during this period, further prioritizing residential gas needs.

This move is designed to manage the expected spike in gas demand for heating and cooking as temperatures drop, ensuring that homes are not left without essential energy resources during the coldest months of the year.

The government aims to secure energy supplies for domestic consumers through these measures.
