The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) plans to install “e-gates” at Pakistan’s international airports to make immigration faster for passengers.
The CAA has started a process to find companies that can set up these e-gates. Companies specializing in international border control systems can apply by August 13.
The e-gates will first be set up at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports. CAA officials say using these gates will speed up immigration because passengers will just need to scan their passports. This change aims to reduce the long lines seen during immigration checks.
