Prince William has been called Britain’s “secret weapon” following his pivotal meeting with US president-elect Donald Trump in Paris.
The future king and Trump held a 40-minute discussion at the British ambassador’s residence after briefly crossing paths at the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Speaking to the New York Post, Trump complimented William, calling him a “good-looking guy” and remarking, “He looked really, very handsome last night.” He added, “Some people look better in person. He looked great. I told him that.”
Conservative Party member Daniel Hannan also weighed in, stating that the Royal Family, rather than the Prime Minister, “represents Britain as a whole.” He described Prince William as the UK’s “secret weapon” in Trump’s breakthrough and noted that even Trump seemed “a little subdued” in the presence of royalty.
Prince William, for his part, described his time with Trump as a “pleasure.”
