Israel has carried out airstrikes on three key airbases in Syria, including Qamishli, Shanshar Base, and the Aqaba airbase.
According to Arab media, the attacks targeted various regions of Syria, including Homs and the southwestern areas of Damascus.
Rami Abdulrahman, the director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, reported that over 100 airstrikes were launched by the Israeli military on Syria within a 24-hour period.
Abdulrahman accused Israel of attempting to weaken the Syrian army’s strength and capabilities in the aftermath of the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Sources have stated that numerous Israeli helicopters and fighter jets have targeted Syrian military bases, with the objective of gaining control over the United Nations buffer zone near the Golan Heights.
In addition, several strikes were carried out on a research facility and an electronic warfare center in Damascus.
The attacks have escalated tensions in the region, though no immediate response has been issued by Syria.
Experts believe that the objective of these strikes is likely to undermine Syria’s defense systems and damage key strategic assets. The ongoing conflict in the region continues to raise significant international concern.
