In a heartwarming and empowering moment, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah welcomed 22 children from the Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KSDP) to the CM House, giving them a chance to lead for a day.
Among them, Baby Dua stood out as she confidently declared her dream of becoming Chief Minister, stepping into the shoes of the province’s leader for an unforgettable experience.
The visit, organized to provide the children with a special and empowering experience, saw them accompanied by Tabish Shehzad, co-founder and CEO of KSDP. CM Murad Ali Shah greeted the children with enthusiasm, giving them a tour of the historic building.
When he asked, “Who wants to be the Chief Minister?” many of the children raised their hands. But it was Baby Dua who stood up with confidence and said, “I want to be Chief Minister.”
In a gesture of respect for their dreams, CM Shah allowed each child to sit in his chair one by one, while he sat nearby, telling them, “If you become the Chief Minister, we’ll be your team.” The children’s faces lit up with joy, with one child exclaiming, “I am the Chief Minister now!” Another child even called their parents from the Chief Minister’s desk.
The experience became even more memorable when Baby Dua was crowned “Today’s Chief Minister” and led a meeting in the conference hall. The session began with a recitation of the Quran and the national anthem, followed by a briefing from Principal Secretary Agaz Wasef on important issues like Sindh’s population, education, and governance.
Taking her role seriously, Baby Dua instructed her cabinet, saying, “Keep Pakistan clean.” CM Murad Ali Shah fully supported her vision, assuring, “Chief Minister Miss Baby Dua, we will follow your instructions and ensure every city and Pakistan stays clean.”
The day was further enriched by a visit to Clifton Park, where CM Shah celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event featured a talent show and an exhibition highlighting the achievements of special individuals.
In addition, CM Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Professor Hishmat Lodhi Youth Development Center at Sindh Madressa-tul-Islam University, a new initiative aimed at providing education and employment opportunities for students in the region.
This unforgettable day was a true celebration of empowerment, inclusion, and the bright future of these young stars.
