FINDING YOUR CREATIVE GENIUS

-

The key to finding your creative genius is considered too complicated. Creativity is a trait that can be acquired, whether you are a composer or a scientist. It is something that is learned, developed, and enhanced by hard labor.

This brings up a crucial point: How do you produce your finest work and unearth your inner creative genius?

LET’S CREATE SOME JUNK

FINDING YOUR CREATIVE GENIUS

Permitting yourself to produce junk is a necessary step in any creative activity. There isn’t a way to avoid it. Sometimes you have to write four horrible pages before you realize that the second paragraph of the third page contains one nice sentence.

It’s like being a gold miner to create something worthwhile and interesting. To uncover a single piece of gold amid all the other debris, rock, and silt, you must sift through tonnes of stuff. If you permit yourself to let the muse flow, bits and pieces of genius will make their way to you.

ALIGN YOUR CREATIVITY WITH A SCHEDULE

Amateurs produce when they are inspired. The work of professionals is scheduled.

The act of driving oneself to produce regularly will reveal more creative genius than any other single action. The only way to improve at anything is to practice it repeatedly. A person who spends their time speculating about what a best-selling book might be like will never actually write one. In the meantime, the writer who comes in every day sits down, and puts their hands on the keyboard is learning how to perform the job.

Don’t leave anything to chance if you want to produce your greatest creative work. Don’t start your day by hoping to be motivated to accomplish anything when you awake. Take the decision-making process out of it. Plan out your workday. When you make enough appearances to push aside the commonplace concepts, creative brilliance will eventually emerge.

YOU HAVE TO END WHAT’S STARTED

Complete something. Anything. Simply perform the task; don’t spend time planning, studying, or preparing to accomplish it. It doesn’t matter if it’s excellent or awful. You don’t have to blow everything up on your first attempt. All you have to do is show yourself that you are capable of producing anything.

There are no great artists, sportsmen, businesspeople, or scientists who only completed part of their task. Instead of contemplating what to produce, simply start creating.

EXERCISE SOME SELF COMPASSION

FINDING YOUR CREATIVE GENIUS

Anyone who consistently produces something will start to evaluate their output.

It’s normal to evaluate your job. It’s normal to feel frustrated when your product falls short of your expectations or when you notice that your skill level is staying the same. The important thing is to keep working and not allow your dissatisfaction to stop you.

To avoid letting self-judgment rule, you must cultivate adequate self-compassion. Yes, you care about your profession but try not to take yourself too seriously to the point that you can’t laugh off your blunders and keep doing what you love. Don’t allow presumption to keep you from delivering.

SHOW YOUR WORK

FINDING YOUR CREATIVE GENIUS

Publicize your work. It will encourage you to do your very best work. It will give advice on how to do better work. And it will excite you and make you care more when you see how others respond to what you have created.

The world needs individuals who publish innovative work. What you might consider basic to someone else may be great. But until you choose to share, you’ll never know that.

Finding your creative genius is simple: just put in the effort, complete a task, solicit feedback, look for ways to improve, and try again the following day. Repetition for a decade. maybe twenty. maybe thirty.

Perspiration leads to inspiration.
