BEWARE! TOXINS ARE EVERYWHERE. WHETHER ITS FOOD, NON-FOOD, AIR, WATER, OR LAND YOU CAN NOT GET ENOUGH AWARENESS OF TOXINS ALL AROUND!
“Terrible, terrible little toxins!
how I wonder,
Where you live in,”
Amidst the storm of all these countless viruses and infectious diseases, perhaps traditional nursery rhymes should get replaced by new ones.
People are increasingly becoming more vigilant about health care and health hazards. However, with the number of our conventional day-to-day commodities expanding, the toxins that we are exposed to, are also surpassing the alarming levels.
We are hereby investigating the hidden habitats of toxins found in shockingly ordinary places.
1. THE INEDIBLES EDIBLES
Enjoy the cherries, apricots, plums, or peaches but beware of the pits. Aside from the bitter taste, the seeds inside certain fruits contain cyanogenic compounds, which if ingested will turn into cyanide. Depending on the size of the cherries, ingesting just three or four crushed cherry pits can lead to death. However, rest assured that, they are not poisonous if eaten whole. Furthermore, over-ripened green potatoes, tomato leaves, raw beans, and bitter almonds are all poisonous to health.
2. THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
The beasts hidden in your beauty products can cause a lot of turmoil. And no, not just some skin rashes but serious effects like the development of cancer, hormonal changes, and fertility issues, can arise from using unapproved low-quality stock. Always skim and scan the labels before purchasing any product and avoid ingredients that appear dubious.
3. TOXIVOROUS
I’ve come up with this term to represent the unique type of the human breed. They happily gobble up store-bought processed food, shoved inside plastic containers, and then top it up with a whole lot of sugary sodas. On a serious note, processed food, and drinks not only lack nutritional value but may cause serious health issues like obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Moreover, most plastic containers and bottles are contaminated with toxic PFAS and scientists believe that it’s probably leaching into food and drinks, making the already toxic diet even more toxic.
Solution: Eat healthy, and avoid processed canned food. Moreover, we can not emphasize enough that plastic usage must be minimized to save the planet and its people.
4. DETER FROM DETERGENTS
Did you know laundry detergents are one of the leading causes of accidental poisoning in children each year?
Many popular detergent brands contain up to 25 toxic chemicals. Unfortunately, If the exposure is too much, the synthetic fumes from the detergents can sometimes be the cause of headaches, shortness of breath, flu-like symptoms, and even cancer. So next time you are filling up that cart, buy eco-friendly detergents, use masks and gloves while doing laundry, and keep all the cleaning products out of reach of the children.
5. TOUCH ME NOT!
Doorknobs, keyboards, switches, and your cell phone are probably dirtier than an average toilet seat. It is safe to say they are also the most “touched up” spots and the residence of numerous bacterial colonies. While it is impossible to not touch such things but wiping them off with alcohol wipes every few days, washing hands frequently, and not taking your cell phone to the toilet next time, can be some appropriate measures in avoiding these uncountable toxins.
6. STOP BUGGING YOURSELF
That bug spray you use for insects may bug you too. In fact, all spray-based products like insect repellent, air fresheners, deodorants, and some perfumes contain toxic chemicals extremely harmful if inhaled. They can cause severe allergic reactions like migraine headaches, asthma attacks, mucosal symptoms, infant illness, and life-threatening breathing problems. You can replace your perfume sprays with healthier organic perfume oils and lotions and make your own air fresheners, deodorants, and insect repellents at home using a variety of recipes available online.

8. PEOPLE
Oddly but rightfully included in our list is the most lethal of all beings, the toxic people. Toxic people may ruin your peace of mind by destroying your self-confidence and self-esteem. So, if you feel you are losing your sanity, find yourself in despair, and your life feels empty of happiness. Don’t just jump into diagnosing yourself with depression. It might be just the toxic people around you that are contaminating your life with their toxic words and behavior. Avoid them, ignore them, keep them out of your mind and out of your life, and log out of all the toxicity.
