Pakistan’s Champions Trophy campaign began with heartbreak as star opener Fakhar Zaman, ruled out due to injury, couldn’t hold back his tears in the dressing room after the team’s defeat in the opening match.
A viral video shows Fakhar walking towards the pavilion with a heavy heart. As soon as he entered the dressing room, he broke down, and his teammates, including Shaheen Shah Afridi, tried to console him.
Expressing his disappointment on social media, Fakhar wrote that representing Pakistan on the big stage is an honor and a dream for every cricketer. He added, “Unfortunately, I am out of the tournament, but there is no doubt that Allah is the best planner. My best wishes are with the team.”
Meanwhile, Imam-ul-Haq has been included in Pakistan’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in place of Fakhar Zaman.
