UK Donkeys Break Guinness World Records 2026 for Height and Long Ears
Two extraordinary donkeys at Redcliff Donkey Sanctuary in Lincolnshire, UK, have gained global fame by entering the Guinness World Records 2026.
Derrick was recognized as the world’s tallest donkey at 167 cm (5 ft 5 in), while his friend Bambou earned the title for having the longest ears on a donkey, measuring 35 cm (1 ft 1 in).
The reason for their records lies in Derrick’s exceptional height, inherited from his purebred American Mammoth Jackstock parents, and Bambou’s unusually long, silky ears, which make him instantly recognizable. Both donkeys are adored not only for these remarkable traits but also for their gentle and friendly personalities. Derrick loves ginger biscuits and carrots and often follows visitors around, while Bambou’s cheerful demeanor has made him the sanctuary’s most loved donkey.
Sanctuary owner Tracy Garton said, “Bambou’s ears and Derrick’s height make them unique, but their affectionate nature is what truly wins the hearts of visitors.”
