In Dubai ,a unique world record was set in In April 2023, when the P7 car number plate was auctioned for an astounding 55 million dirhams. In Pakistani Rupees, this amounts to approximately 19,515,441,000 PKR.
The auction, held at the Four Seasons Resort in Jumeirah, saw intense bidding, with businessman Pavel Valeryevich Durov purchased the number plate “P7” at the “Most Noble Numbers”.
Pavel Valeryevich Durov is the founder of Telegram and according to forbes he was the 120th wealthiest person of the world in 2022 . Pavel Durov was born in Russia and now lives in Dubai, where Telegram is based. He holds dual citizenship of the United Arab Emirates and France.
Starting at 15 million dirhams, the bid quickly escalated to 30 million dirhams, and the competition grew fiercer. Eventually, the P7 plate was sold for 55 million dirhams, securing its place in history as the most expensive number plate ever sold.
This auction not only made history but also placed Emirates Auction in the Guinness World Records, with Dubai cementing its reputation as the global hub for luxury license plates.
