An Australian school building has claimed the prestigious title of the world’s best for 2024, beating out some of the most famous and awe-inspiring structures worldwide.
Located in Chippendale, a suburb of Sydney, the Darlinghurst Public School was honored with the ‘World Building of 2024′ award at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) held in Singapore.
The building, which became operational at the end of last year, was selected from a shortlist of 220 stunning and well-designed structures from around the world.
In previous years, the title went to a senior citizens’ housing complex in Singapore and the West to Energy power plant in Copenhagen, Denmark, known for its unique sloping roof design.
