Montreal politician Marwah Rizqy has tied herself into the record books — literally. During a TV appearance on Infoman, Rizqy wore an astonishing 360 neckties at once, smashing the previous Guinness World Record.

The earlier record was held by Brazil’s David Aparecido, who managed 330 ties in 2023. Rizqy sailed past that number and didn’t stop until she added 30 more for good measure.
The challenge took about 48 minutes, with each tie pre-knotted and then layered one by one. By the end, Rizqy’s face was nearly buried under the mountain of fabric.
Explaining her attempt, Rizqy said she wanted to prove that women can also claim quirky, record-breaking achievements often dominated by men.
With 360 ties wrapped around her neck, Rizqy didn’t just break a record — she made a statement, showing politics doesn’t always have to be so buttoned-up.
