In a pivotal move for Bahria Town Karachi, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has reinstated the provisional No Objection Certificate (NOC) for its monumental 16,896-acre development, igniting renewed interest in the project.
This significant announcement, detailed in a letter from SBCA on Tuesday, allows for the sale and advertisement of the project across Deh Bolari, Deh Langheji, Deh Konkar, Deh Kharkharo, and Deh Kathore in District Malir, Karachi.
This reinstatement follows a prior NOC issued on September 19, 2022, and received the green light from the SBCA’s Director General after thorough legal consultation.
The project is backed by a layout plan approved by the Malir Development Authority (MDA) on June 13, 2022, further solidifying its legitimacy.
However, the NOC is accompanied by strict conditions, notably the immediate settlement of Rs1.44 billion in outstanding scrutiny fees, to be paid in two equal installments. Additionally, Bahria Town Karachi must present a valid developer license within one month to proceed.
The SBCA has issued a clear warning: any legal disputes over land ownership could result in the immediate revocation of the NOC. Furthermore, the developer is required to secure a completion certificate in accordance with the amended Karachi Building & Town Planning Regulations of 2002.
This restoration signals a potential turning point for Bahria Town Karachi, as stakeholders eagerly anticipate the project’s future developments.
