The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a bullish trend on Tuesday, rising by 447.90 points, a 0.57 percent increase, to close at 78,987.09 points, up from 78,539.19 points on the previous trading day.
A total of 316,245,462 shares were traded, compared to 375,599,184 shares the day before. The total value of shares traded was Rs 17.074 billion, down from Rs 19.350 billion on the last trading day. Out of 433 companies that traded their shares, 225 recorded gains, 164 incurred losses, and 44 saw no change in their share prices.
The top three trading companies were PIA Holding Company with 22,079,450 shares at Rs 15.63 per share, Pak Elektron with 19,793,659 shares at Rs 26.26 per share, and WorldCall Telecom with 19,515,808 shares at Rs 1.17 per share.
Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited saw the highest increase, with its share price rising by Rs 74.08 to close at Rs 18,200.00. The second highest increase was seen by Lucky Core Industries Limited, whose share price rose by Rs 61.25 to Rs 966.36.
PIA Holding Company LimitedB experienced the largest decrease, with its share price dropping by Rs 95.42 to close at Rs 858.78, followed by Pakistan Engineering Company Limited, which saw a decline of Rs 51.00 to close at Rs 670.00.
