The involvement of the Pakistani delegation underscored the nation’s abundant agricultural legacy and expanding expertise in food processing and logistics.
At the 2024 Salon International De L’Alimentation (SIAL) in Shanghai, nine prominent Pakistani companies, specializing in logistics, rice mills, frozen meals, as well as a diverse range of fruits, juices, pink salt products, candies, snacks, and dried fruits, showcased their offerings with great prominence.
During the exhibition, which ran from May 28 to 30, more than 5,000 exhibitors from 75 countries and regions presented over 350,000 innovative food and beverage products worldwide. The Pakistani delegation’s involvement underscored the nation’s abundant agricultural legacy and advancing proficiency in food processing and logistics.
One notable company was the National Logistics Corporation, led by Director Plans Muhammad Yousaf. Yousaf stated, “Our extensive network enables us to guarantee the prompt and efficient delivery of products from Pakistan to China and beyond.”
In the rice industry, Kumar Kewlani, representing a rice mill, remarked, “We’ve been consistently exporting rice to China since the market opened up, with monthly shipments totaling thousands of tonnes. Participating in this exhibition provides an excellent platform to highlight the distinctive characteristics of Pakistani rice.”
