The three-day Food and Agricultural International Exhibition at Karachi’s Expo Centre has concluded, leaving a significant mark on the industry.
The event attracted global participants, set new records, and highlighted the strength of Pakistani businesses on an international stage.
At the end of the event, Zubair Motiwala, CEO of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, provided a briefing.
He revealed that trade agreements at this year’s expo were 200% higher than those from the previous year. Pakistani companies secured orders worth $1.2 billion this year, compared to $410 million last year.
Motiwala also noted that 800 international buyers from 75 countries attended the expo. Pakistani firms showcased over 500 products, and the event featured the largest-ever Chinese corporate delegation of 150 people.
In the seafood sector alone, deals worth $35 million were signed with Chinese companies. Additionally, the exhibition set a new record with 7,000 business-to-business meetings.
