Gold prices in Pakistan surged to new record levels on Thursday, in line with global market trends.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by Rs1,500, reaching an unprecedented Rs277,000. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also rose by Rs1,285, settling at Rs237,482.
This latest increase follows Wednesday’s surge when gold reached Rs275,500 per tola after a Rs2,500 jump.
Globally, gold prices also saw a rise, with the international rate climbing by $12 to $2,665 per ounce, as reported by APGJSA.
In contrast, silver prices in the local market remained stable at Rs3,050 per tola.
