In a groundbreaking achievement, Ayla Majid has been elected as the President of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), marking a historic moment as the first Pakistani to hold this prestigious position. Her election signals the dawn of a new era for the global accounting profession, driven by passion, innovation, and sustainability.
Ayla Majid is the founder and CEO of Plenitude Middle East and Plenitude Pakistan, based in Islamabad, which specializes in decarbonization, sustainability, and energy solutions.
She will now lead over 252,500 members and 526,000 future members of ACCA across 180 countries. Her election comes at a pivotal time as ACCA celebrates the significant milestone of reaching a quarter of a million members and its 120th anniversary.
Ayla Majid shared her vision for the future, stating that she looks forward to working on themes such as ‘The New Future of Accounting, Strategic Perspectives, and Stakeholder Behavior.’ She believes that the accounting profession is evolving rapidly and aims to promote it as a dynamic, meaningful, and attractive career choice.
