Powerful real estate moguls under fire in a massive corruption case shaking Karachi’s corridors of power.
An accountability court has dropped a legal bombshell—non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued against property tycoon Malik Riaz, his son Ahmed Ali Riaz, and top Bahria Town officials over a staggering land scam involving Karachi’s M-9 Motorway.

Despite repeated summons, the high-profile accused failed to appear, forcing the court to take decisive action.
Among the named suspects: Bahria Town’s founder Malik Riaz, his son Ahmed Ali Riaz Malik, Zain Malik, CEO Shahid Mahmood Qureshi, and close associates Waqas and Wasim Rafat. All are accused of orchestrating a multi-billion-rupee fraud in collusion with government officials.
According to NAB, vast stretches of state-owned land—meant for public projects—were illegally transferred to Bahria Town through fake documents, record tampering, and blatant misuse of authority. The deal? A sweetheart land grab at the public’s expense.
Charges include breach of trust, abuse of power, and grand-scale corruption—casting a dark shadow over one of Pakistan’s most prominent housing giants.
The court has now ordered law enforcement to arrest and produce the accused without delay. The message is clear: no one is above the law.
