Pakistan Encounters Frequent Internet and Social Media Disruptions
The widely used social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, is reportedly experiencing accessibility issues for users throughout Pakistan on Sunday.
According to Downdetector.pk, users have been encountering intermittent problems accessing X since yesterday.
The real-time internet and social media outage monitoring service recorded at least 16 reports of potential issues with X across the country.
Users attempting to access X were greeted with a message stating “this site can’t be reached,” preventing them from viewing posts on the platform.
Pakistan has been witnessing frequent internet and social media outages recently, particularly over the past few months during the ongoing events related to the 2024 general election.
Netizens expressed frustration over their inability to connect to X for several hours on Saturday night.
Additionally, the country experienced disruptions on other platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Google services, and the internet service provider PTCL last month.
Earlier, X faced global outages in May 2023, following numerous complaints from users worldwide.
