Javed Afridi is the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, is also a well-known businessman in Pakistan, and Owner of Haier Pvt Ltd.

In the HBL PSL season 9 Replacement Draft, the number of picks has been made:
- Peshawar Zalmi picks Waqar Salamkheil in the silver category against the Lungi Ngidi. He is fully unavailable for the PSL season 9.
- Khurram Shahzad will also be partially available and the team picked Arshad Iqbal against him in the silver category.
- Noor Ahmed will also not be available for the entire season due to his international commitments, the right arm fast bowler Gus Atkinson from England will replace him but he will be partially available.
- Shamar Joseph, the hero of West Indies against Australia in the test series, will join Peshawar Zalmi after the unavailability of England’s Gus Atkinson.
- In the supplementary-4 pick, PZ chose Sufiyan Muqeem, the left-arm spinner, who was also part of the same team in the previous season.
- They have also reserved their pick for partially available Afghani bowler, Naveen Ul Haq.
