Pakistani host and actress Maya Khan has candidly spoken about her once high salary and the significant reduction she later faced during a recent podcast interview.
Maya Khan, a well-known Pakistani television host and actor, first gained recognition through PTV dramas such as Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay. However, her real breakthrough came with a popular private TV morning show that brought her nationwide fame. In 2024, she made a strong comeback to television with the drama Mayi Ri.
Audiences also praised her performances in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, while her role in the recent drama serial Baray Bhaiya received considerable appreciation from viewers.
Recently, Maya Khan appeared on a podcast hosted by Adnan Faisal for FHM, where she openly discussed the ups and downs of her career earnings. She revealed that there was a time when she used to charge PKR 2.5 million for hosting a single morning show. She added that renowned host Iqrar Ul Hassan would often ask, out of curiosity, how much television hosts were paid.
Maya Khan further shared that in 2020, her life took a dramatic turn when she agreed to host a show for just PKR 400,000. Describing that phase, she said it felt like she had fallen from the sky to the ground, calling it a reality check for her.
She admitted that she initially felt hesitant but later turned to faith, praying for blessings and growth in that income. According to Maya Khan, whatever she receives is from Allah, and He has the power to turn even a small amount into something far greater.
