Underage Bus Driving in DHA Triggers Rs 50,000 Mega Fine

-

Underage driving can be deadly — and Karachi has just delivered a powerful public lesson. In a shocking incident from DHA, Karachi, an 11 to 12-year-old boy was seen driving a passenger bus on a busy road, a moment that shocked social media and raised serious concerns over road safety and parental and owner responsibility.

Soon after the video went viral, Karachi Traffic Police took immediate action and issued a Rs 50,000 e-challan to the bus owner for allowing a minor to take control of a commercial vehicle. This fine has been declared the second-largest traffic penalty ever issued in the city.

Using viral footage and still images, authorities traced the bus registration number and moved swiftly to penalize the owner. Officials said this action was not just about punishment, but about educating the public on the dangers of underage and unlicensed driving.

Earlier, Karachi’s largest traffic fine of Rs 100,000 was issued to a dumper truck owner, showing that authorities are tightening enforcement to make roads safer for everyone.

This incident now stands as a strong reminder that traffic rules are not optional — they are life-saving lessons for society.
